I have to admit I'm not exactly fun to be around right now. I sound like I smoke 40 a day and when the coughing starts it's like some bag lady with TB. I've been ill for a week now. Other than two days over the weekend when, frankly, I did nothing and slept most of the time, I've been battling along with it.
I even attempted my dental appointment on Monday but we had to abandon it after an hour (when the edges of the anaesthetic wore off) because the cough got in the way. It was great while the jabs were doing their stuff because my cough reflex disappeared completely and my throat actually got a rest. So I'm back tomorrow to complete what we started.
I have been going into work and I've been doing half-hearted stuff but I'm not really there. If my boss was a nicer person I'd probably take a couple of days off - but I daren't push my luck because of the time I've taken to have my teeth done. So I sit there, sniffling and hacking and passing on my germs to anyone else in the building. There's no point in it, because everyone will end up taking a couple of days off later when they have it, but that's how my boss thinks. Or doesn't think. As the case may be.
Sorry I'm a miserable cow. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Sorry too that you're feeling like a miserable cow - hope you feel much better very soon.
Sorry, hope your a bit better already. I also hope that only your boss catches your cold, not your other colleagues.
People who spread germs should stay at home until they're better.
Oh cripes, I hope you are feeling better soon. a week is quite a long time to be laid up with this kind of thing. Interesting that the anaesthetic helped it. I wonder if it just stopped you noticing the tickle.
That cough is not nice both TBH and I had something that sounds like it in turns and it took about three weeks to go away for me and a little longer for TBH.
I had something very similar about a month ago and it was awful. The good news is it disappeared after a couple of week and I've been fine since. I very kindly shared it with Hubby and MIL and there's lasted a couple of weeks too, so obviously it's some sort of virus. Hope you feel better soon. Have you tried taking Echinacea, I found that helped.
Poor AJ. Take it easy and try and rest. Where's snafu's magic wand when you need it?!
Cheer up dear AJ - a few days of warm sunshine would make all the difference - but fat chance if the weather forecast is to be believed.
Cough,cold and the Dentist...no envy !
Hope the bugger soon clears up, you never know we might get some sunshine! It tried to make an appearance today but, I still got a bit of heatstroke!
Your charm is waiting for you whenever you are ready.
Take care,
Sandie xx
I was hoping the laughing would have helped.
You know, they say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Think of how strong you will be by the time this is over.
I too hope that your boss catches this thing. Unfortunately then, you'll have to do his work as well as yours as punishment for passing it on.
awww i hope you feel better soon...that is no fun...
I just posted a huge long comment and it has disappeared:-( what happened??
Anyway, get better AJ! that is misearble and we are sorry for you but also sorry for us! Your sardonic humour is sorely missed by all of us.
By way of food dor thought, what do you have to say about the Queen's new " curtsey rule"? I would LIKE to think that sort of thing went out with the sideless surcoat and the Butterfly headdress but apparently not! Good thing I am not at court or it would be " off with her head!!!"
Get better, AJ!
So sorry to hear you are still not feeling too well. I went to get my hair done yesterday-- too lazy to do it myself -- and my hairdresser had a terrible cold. Oh dear! Do hope I don't catch it. What a mean boss you have! Hope he doesn't read your blog!!!
BTW what is this new curtsey rule? Don't answer until you feel like it -- or not.
there is nothing worse than a summer cold and it seems like yours is hanging on longer than it should! you are a trooper to be working through it all too! I hope you feel better soon!
betty
